Year 10 Science Competitions

Our Year 10 girls have recently competed in a number of National and Global science competitions. All the girls who participated did well with some outstanding achievements as detailed below.

Our Year 10 students have recently taken part in the Junior Physics Olympiad Challenge. This is a National physics competition with over 11,700 students participating.

This year in particular the standard of the problems was very challenging and students were awarded either a Participation, Bronze, silver or gold Award.

It is pleasing to announce the top results were:

Gold

Silver

  Amana S
  Raniyah F
  Divine Precious I

The Year 10 also competed in the Biology Challenge. Last year over 41,000 students competed globally. Questions are set on the school curriculum, but the competition also rewards those students whose knowledge of the subject has been increased by reading books and magazines, watching natural history programmes, taking notice of the news media for items of biological interest, and are generally aware of our natural flora and fauna.

The students were awarded either a Participation, Commended, Highly Commended, Bronze, Silver or Gold Award.
