Leicester High School for Girls celebrates excellent A-Level results

Leicester High School for Girls is proud to announce the outstanding A-Level results achieved by its students this year, despite the challenges posed by disrupted education as a result of Covid.

60% of A-Level grades awarded were A*-A, while an astounding 81% of A-Levels achieved were graded A*-B. Three students secured an exceptional achievement of three A* grades.

“Our pupils have shown remarkable strength in overcoming the difficulties they’ve encountered over the past years. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and how they’ve grown into well-rounded individuals”, said Headmaster, Alan Whelpdale. “I would also like to extend my gratitude to our dedicated staff and supportive parents whose guidance and encouragement have been instrumental in the success of our students.”

Echoing this sentiment, Mark Ryman, the Head of Sixth Form, highlighted, “These A-Level results mark a significant milestone for our pupils, as they are the first set of examinations they have taken, due to Covid. Their dedication and hard work have paid off, and we are excited to see what they go on to achieve.”

In alignment with the commitment to maintaining high educational standards, it is worth noting that Ofqual has stated that 2023 A-Level results have returned to 2019 standards, ensuring fairness and accuracy in the evaluation process.

Leicester High School for Girls extends its congratulations to all of the pupils and wishes them the best of luck as they pursue their passions and goals.

For those seeking an exceptional education, there are still spaces available for enrolment this September. There is also the upcoming Open Morning on 30 September if you would like to explore the opportunities on offer.
