Leicester High School FoundationAt Leicester High School for Girls we pride ourselves on educational excellence and achievement. In an ever increasing competitive world, it is essential that we develop and progress to meet all present and future challenges. With this in mind, we have established the Leicester High School Foundation to raise additional funding for the school to meet this demand. To demonstrate our commitment to the development of the school, we are currently undertaking the biggest project in the school’s history – the construction of a £3.7 million science, art and design and Modern Languages extension. The new development will inspire pupils, provide a dynamic teaching environment and leave a lasting legacy to school. Beyond the current project, the school has further ambitious plans to develop the London Road site and its facilities, and, therefore, needs to sustain its financial reserves through the formation of the Leicester High School Foundation. Current PrioritiesThe building project is now underway, and is due to be completed by the end of the Summer term ready for use and the official opening in September 2010. With the help of alumni, parents and friends, the Foundation can impact on all areas of school life, from major capital expenditure through to the purchase of classroom equipment. All donations, large or small, are welcome. We are extremely grateful to all those who have already supported Leicester High School for Girls with a donation. If you would like to help us, then please contact the school’s Development Office. BursariesThe Governors are committed to offering bursary support to families who are not in a position to meet the full cost of school fees. And the Foundation hopes to raise funds to support this venture and provide assistance towards the education of talented girls from lower income families. Leave your mark at Leicester High SchoolThere are lots of ways you can support our new science, art and design and Modern Languages development. Parents' Association – We need you!We want all of our daughters to get the most out of their time at Leicester High School; a crucial part of that experience is to take part in social events which are held throughout the year. The Parents’ Association’s principal aim is to organise these events to give our daughters the opportunity to have fun and to raise essential funds which can then purchase items for the school for everyone’s benefit. Over the years, the Association has raised thousands of pounds, all of which has been used to purchase items for the school such as digital projectors, interactive white boards, a cycle shed and equipment for the Junior school gardening club. The Association meets regularly and readily welcomes new members and ideas. To ensure that we can continue to give our daughters the very best, we need new members – and that means you! Please get involved. You can either join our committee, help out at events, or simply support the events which are held. Don’t let our daughters miss out on this essential part of their education. Thank you for all your support. |
