Dark Peak Mountain Biking Trip

Mountain biking is a great break after exams for Sixth Formers...

Nine girls from the Sixth Form form travelled up to The Dark Peaks on Monday 22 June to enjoy a day of mountain biking, led by Andy Rowlinson from First 4 Adventure UK. Bikes and helmets were hired from the National Park’s Cycle centre at Derwent Reservoir and off they went getting used to the gears and brakes. After some easy riding around Derwent and Ladybower reservoirs, the group cycled up into the woods and tried some of the more challenging and technical trails. Five hours later the group returned splattered with mud, tired but thrilled to have completed the day so well. The day can be summed up by this quote from Fatema, 'Thank so much for today….felt like I couldn’t do it along the uphills but Jo and Andy’s motivation got me there in the end! Genuinely a milestone for me, can’t thank you enough!'
