Y8 Trip to Rutland Water
A wonderful trip for Y8 who saw many rare species and enjoyed a trip across the water on a boat.
On 11 June Year 8 visited Rutland Water nature reserve to see the Ospreys and other interesting birds and plants. With a helpful and friendly guide, Ken, they were able to identify some rare species including the Spotted Orchid, the Great Crested Grebe, Tufted Duck, Goldfinch, Water Vole, and, of course, the Osprey. The trip also included a mesmerising boat trip around Rutland Water, another bird-spotting session, and the making of personalised bird tags. They ended the trip with a visit to the gift shop where they enjoyed buying some mementos of this brilliant trip.
