Girls Sing at South Lodge
Y6 and 7 sing to residents in local care home....
Thirteen Year 6 and 7 girls visited South Lodge Residential Home in December to give an impromptu performance of carols to the residents.
As well as the carols, the girls performed 'Do They Know Its Christmas?' and also 'Bring Me Sunshine' which the audience thoroughly enjoyed.
All the girls found this experience humbling and inspiring and they wanted to continue to sing for a longer period of time but then realised they had to get back to school!
Once again, the girls rose to the occasion and having all the residents clearly enjoying themselves and singing along with the girls was truly an inspiring moment.
South Lodge kindly gave a tin of chocolates to all the girls for performing, but one girl, on the way home, commented that it wasn't about the chocolates - what she had most enjoyed was giving people a few moments of happiness in this festive period. This was a sentiment echoed by all the girls.
