Outstanding GCSE Results

With nearly half the grades being A*, and the best results since 2007, there was much to celebrate!

Girls in Year 11 produced some truly remarkable results this year. With nearly a third of the girls achieving all A*/A grades, there was much to celebrate! The percentage of A* grades, at 48%, was the highest since 2007, and three quarters of the grades achieved were A*/A grades. In fact only 5% of the grades were below a B.

Mr Whelpdale, the Headmaster, said: ‘I am so delighted by these outstanding results, which are well deserved.  Our students are multi-talented and excel in a huge range of extra-curricular activities as well as their academic studies. Credit for their success must also go to their teachers – who always go the extra mile to support their students.’

In terms of individual results, special mention must go to Hannah Erlebach, who scored full marks in 5 GCSEs: Art, Maths, RS, English Literature and English Language. She also gained an A* Distinction in Further Maths, as well as a total of 12 A*s. Congratulations also to Ruhi Vaitha and Jasvin Kaur, who also gained A* Distinctions in Further Maths, showing the strength of ability as well as excellent teaching. 16 girls took Further Maths this year, in addition to GCSE Maths. Congratulations also to Zoe Callow and Shivani Ganesh, who, along with Hannah, gained 11 and 10 A*s respectively in a clean sweep of top grades. Many congratulations all round to the girls, the staff and our parents.
