Y6 react to Holocaust Survivior's live webcast

Y6 moved by Holocaust Survivor's story...

Girls in the Senior School listened to a live webcast of Holocaust survivor Mala Tribich in Miss Paul's assembly which was organised by the Holocaust Educational Trust. Three girls in Y6 were very moved by the story of the Bergen-Belsen survivor, whose mother and father were both killed. Mylan said, 'I didn't know much about The Holocaust before and didn't realise how bad it was. It was very hard to listen to and very sad. She was very brave and a real survivor.' Hanifa said, 'I was quite astonished by it all, and felt tears coming into my eyes. Mala was very brave because she stood up to the Germans so she could be with her Father. She was about my age, so I was impressed with her bravery. There are lots of things we don't know like this, and this is one thing I will never forget.' Tiffany felt, 'I could really picture everyone running out of the camp at the end when they were freed by the British. It is horrible how some countries don't have a heart.'
