100% pass rate for the 10th year! With 22% at A*!

The A Level results achieved by the girls this year have once again been fantastic, with a 100% pass rate for the 10th consecutive year, and an increase in those achieving A* grades to 22% (compared to a national average of 8.3%), and 100% of those completing the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) acheiving A*.

42% of the grades were A*/A, and 83% were A*-C. These high grades have resulted in high numbers of the girls securing a place at their first choice university. Among those enjoying their success is Deputy Head Girl, Claire Zhang, who will be combining her creative and science skills after successfully securing a place at Cambridge University to study Architecture, with three A*s in Art and Design, Mathematics and Physics.

The School has a clear aim to nurture the talents, creativity and self-belief of each student. Mr Alan Whelpdale, Headmaster of the School, said:

“Supporting the girls in building their individual talents is a key ethos of the School and we are extremely pleased with the results this year, which will enable the girls to undertake a wide range of future pathways.”

Verity Howell, who achieved A*A*A, will continue to develop her great sporting talents both as an athlete and coach by undertaking a course in Outdoor Adventure Education at Plymouth Marjon University.

Zoha Akram has secured a place to study Modern Languages at Warwick University with grades of A* A* A and the School’s Head Girl, Jeevan Sandhar, will be taking up a place to study Dentistry at the University of Birmingham.

Head of the Sixth Form, Mrs Danielle Solly, said:

“The results are fantastic and are a result of the hard work, commitment and determination of the students and staff at the school. I am delighted that so many students have been able to obtain a place at the universities of their choice and the wide range of courses our students are going on to study shows the wide range of skills and interests that the girls have developed during their time at the School. We are very proud of what they have achieved.”

Congratulations to everyone getting their results today!
