EYFS Trip to the David Attenborough Arboretum 15.11.17

The Foundation and Reception girls enjoyed a wonderful trip to the David Attenborough Arboretum in mid November.

For some of the girls it was their first trip and they were very excited about travelling on the minibus. They were able to explore the arboretum looking at the different colours of the leaves and collected them on a coloured leaf outline.  Reception girls then worked in pairs to look more closely at the different shapes of the leaves, trying to identify which tree thay had fallen from.  Foundation collected lots of different natural materials to use in collage pictures and even found giant sized leaves (London Plane Tree) - they were really impressed. They also did some bark rubbings and enjoyed playing in an area of fallen oak leaves. We finished the day with a story in the woods. One of the Foundation girls commented on the way back " That was a lovely day!"
