The Headmaster's Scholarship
Scholarship for a Year 7 girl from September 2018-2023
The deadline for the Headmaster's Scholarship 2017 has now passed.
Many girls who join Leicester High in Year 7 are from state primary schools in the city and county of Leicestershire. Leicester High School for Girls has a long history of providing academic scholarships to selected girls in Year 7. We offer a Headmaster’s Scholarship which is 80% funded from Years 7-11, from September 2018-23, and is for an academic girl whose parents would not normally consider an independent school.
Fees are reviewed every year. School uniform and trips costs would be met by parents.
To ensure that the selection process is fair, all those interested must sit the Headmaster's Scholarship Examination. Registering for the examination costs £85.Those shortlisted will also be interviewed.

Please find information on the attachment below and also feel free to contact Mrs Alice Hailes, Admissions Officer, on 0116 270 5338 or email@example.com for an informal discussion if you require more information.
The Sir Thomas White Scholarship - Sixth Form
For the last four years, girls entering the Sixth Form from a state school, and resident in Leicestershire or Rutland, have been invited to apply for a Sir Thomas White grant, which is 100% fees-only funded for two years. The School has had five Sir Thomas Scholars in recent years. The scholarship is for an academic girl who would not have the means to pay for a place normally. The application would be means-tested, and a bursary form, see below, would need to be completed. Predicted grades and a personal statement would be requested from the school and girls selected for interview on the basis of this information. There is no guarantee that the School will be able to help girls every year. The interviews normally occur in March. Read more about Sir Thomas White here: http://www.stwcharity.co.uk/
For girls entering Year 7 in 2018
The Bishop Williams Scholarships for outstanding ability are awarded to girls who are between 11 and 12 years old on 1 September 2017 (i.e. entry to Year 7 applicants). Scholarships are awarded to any student - either existing Year 6 or external candidates - on the basis of performance in the Year 7 examination papers in English and Mathematics sat on Entrance Examination day in January.
The Scholarships are valued at between 5% and 10% of school fees and are not means-tested.
