The Sir Thomas White Scholarship - Sixth Form
Deadline for Applications 19 February 2018
For the last four years, girls entering the Sixth Form from a state school, and resident in Leicestershire or Rutland, have been invited to apply for a Sir Thomas White grant, which is 100% fees-only funded for two years. The School has had five Sir Thomas White Scholars in recent years. The scholarship is for an academic girl who would not have the means to pay for a place normally. The application would be means-tested, and a bursary form would need to be completed. Predicted grades and a personal statement would be requested from the school and girls selected for interview on the basis of this information. There is no guarantee that the School will be able to help girls every year. The interviews normally occur in March. Read more about Sir Thomas White here: http://www.stwcharity.co.uk/
For girls entering Year 7 in 2018
The Scholarships are valued at between 5% and 10% of school fees and are not means-tested.

The Headmaster's Scholarship
Many girls who join Leicester High in Year 7 are from state primary schools in the city and county of Leicestershire. Leicester High School for Girls has a long history of providing academic scholarships to selected girls in Year 7. We offer a Headmaster’s Scholarship which is 80% fees funded from Years 7-11 and is for an academic girl whose parents would not normally consider an independent school.
The examination for 2018 entry and details of the examination date for 2019 entry will be added to the website closer to the time. The examination usually takes place in November each year.
Bursaries are available from Year 6 onwards. The maximum amount of support with fees is 100%. To find out more about bursaries, please see the policy and application form. If you have any queries about the application form, please contact Mrs Edwena Mackay, the Bursar on 0116 270 5338.
