Bursaries and Scholarships Fund

We are keen to encourage applications from girls whose families may not traditionally consider an independent education, but who we feel would benefit from all that LHS has to offer.

Although we are able to offer some financial support to such families through bursaries and scholarships, our ability to expand this is limited by our modest surplus which has several competing demands.

You can help to support a girl through sponsoring a bursary for a single student, leaving a legacy to the School or providing us with a one off or regular gift.

Our Current Provision

Our Headmaster's Bursaries are means-tested bursaries awarded to girls entering Year 7 and provide up to 100% of fees funding for years 7 to 13. A donation of £90,000 would provide support to one girl, enabling her to study at the School from Year 7 to Year 13. Donations at this level can be pledged in instalments across a number of years.

Our Sixth Form Bursaries are means-tested bursaries which provide up to 100% of fees funding for Years 12 and 13. A donation of £26,000 would provide support to one girl to join us into the Sixth Form.

If you are able to provide full support for one or more girls, we would be delighted to name the bursary in your honour for the duration of your support.

Our Hardship Bursaries provide support to existing pupils whose family circumstances change. We aim to raise a Hardship Bursary fund of £25,000 per year which will enable us to provide support in any one year to a small number of girls.

Donations of any amount in support of these goals are very welcome and 100% of each gift goes towards providing bursary support. All donations, big or small, go to supporting the provision of these important funds.

If you wish to discuss making a donation, please email our Bursar Mrs Mackay on e.mackay@leicesterhigh.co.uk
