Opening our Doors

I've been delighted to see the girls on site, engaging with their friends and their teachers

Please enter an introduction for your blog post here.

It’s been wonderful to welcome girls from EYFS, Year 1 and Year 6 back into School this week. I've been delighted to see the girls on site, engaging with their friends and their teachers – which is such an important part of school life.

Although things are still far from normal for all of us, I have been so impressed with how the girls have adjusted to our ‘new normal’. We have put a number of measures in place to support good hygiene practices and social distancing and the girls have followed all of this quite brilliantly.

I wanted to take this opportunity to comment on our keyworker girls. It’s been lovely to see the friendships develop between these girls over the past 10 weeks. Although they are from different years, they have truly bonded as a group. They have enjoyed spending more time with Senior School staff, who have been working with their Junior colleagues to support them.

We are also looking forward to welcoming girls from Years 10 and 12 back into School for some face to face teaching later this month. Plans for how this will work are being developed, and I will be in touch with parents as soon as we are able to confirm the details.

Of course, we continue to fully support those girls who are studying at home – providing innovative home learning and pastoral care. We are continuously developing our provision to ensure all girls, whether at home or in School, are receiving the best education possible during these challenging times.

I am so proud of how the LHS community has worked as a team. The girls' behaviour has been exemplary and the kindness and support they have shown to each other has been very impressive. Similarly, I could not be more proud of my staff and the School Governors - all working together to support the School.

Our staff have continued to go above and beyond throughout this period; developing new skills and working practices at a great pace, to ensure LHS continues to provide the high standards of education and support for which we are, rightfully, very proud.

We are very much looking forward to a time when we are able to welcome all of the girls back ‘home’ to LHS. In the meantime, we will do all we can to continue to support your daughters to develop into the bright, caring and amazing young women we know they will become.
