School Reopening - Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 - 11.05.20

As you will be aware, following last night’s announcement, the Government have advised that schools might reopen from Monday 1st June at the earliest.

The Prime Minister has said a phased return to school would begin with pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 6, if infection rates and the government's five other tests at the time allow. The Prime Minister has also said there is an "ambition" that Year 10 and Year 12 pupils would get some time in school before the summer holidays.

Although we are pleased that some of our girls may soon be re-joining us at Leicester High School, we obviously need to put plans in place to ensure they are safe to do so. We had started to formulate these plans in preparation for the likely outcome of Sunday’s announcement, and this work will now continue at pace. As always, the safety of our staff and girls will be forefront of the plans we put together.

I would hope to be able to update you on the specifics of the planned return within the next week. In the meantime, we will continue to provide your daughter with remote education and to provide onsite education for the children of key workers.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you again for your support of the School during these challenging times.

With every good wish
