DofE Returns to LHS!

Saturday 15 January saw the return of D of E at Leicester High after two years of postponed expeditions. 28 silver students were in School for a full-day training in preparation for their practice expedition. Miss Watson and two instructors from First 4 Adventure UK delivered the training, which included a variety of workshops; first aid, cooking on a trangia, how to put up a tent and learning about what kit and equipment is required for an expedition.

The students planned their routes on OS maps for their practice expedition in the Peak District. It was a very cold, but enjoyable day and each group are very excited for their upcoming expedition at the beginning of May. We have our fingers crossed for some warmer weather!

Well done to all of the students involved and thank you to First 4 Adventure UK for an excellent day of training.
