Spelling Bee

The long-awaited Spelling Bee finally arrived this morning and the girls fought for their place in the FINAL for the first 20 minutes of the lesson.

Timers, photographers, readers, choosers and recorders were all given their roles as the list of 8 finalists were added to the board.

TEAM 6Z were watched by Mr Whelpdale, Madame Watkiss and Shreya S (MFL Prefect) as well as the rest of the class and competed with maturity and absolute concentration as they spelt random words from the prepared list of 50 that they have been working on for the past few weeks.

The standard of all finalists was high and they all did extremely well, despite one or two nerves!

The final scores, once finalised, gave us a clear first, second and third. A huge well done to Samyuchthaa who spelt an amazing 19 French words correctly, placing her in first place, followed by Kawsar in second place with 12 French words spelt correctly followed by Aribah in third place with a score of 11 French words spelt correctly.

This was a wonderful competition and I was extremely proud to be part of it! Bravo les filles!
