On 4 March 2020, we attended a theatre production of 'La Casa de Bernarda Alba' in Birmingham, and it certainly didn't fail to impress. It was great to see the play we have been studying be performed by authentic Spanish actresses. The fact that it was performed in Spanish also helped to consolidate our understanding, of the plot and the language itself. Seeing the play performed as the playwright intended helped us to recognise the significance of the theatrical techniques, enabling us to appreciate the relevance of the themes explored in the play. It was brilliant!
