Duke of Edinburgh's Award - Gold Residential

As part of our Gold D of E Award we embarked upon learning a foreign language in Paris alongside students from all over the world to complete our residential section.

This was our first time abroad without our family and teachers and we gained confidence and independence through this experience. Staying with a host family we learnt about the cultures and traditions and of course tried some amazing French cuisine, including frog legs and snails! This opportunity took us out of our comfort zone and usual social settings. However, as a result we learnt how to be more tolerant. We took part in various activities such as festivals, sightseeing, cooking all organised by EF languages. Not only did we improve on our French we met some amazing people who we will stay in contact with.

This was a once in a lifetime opportunity that we will never forget, and it has motivated us both to do more travelling.
