Intermediate Maths Challenge Success
Our girls are great at Maths! 17 Bronze, 7 Silver and 2 Golds for girls in Years 9-11 in the Maths Challenge. Congratulations girls.
The Intermediate Mathematics Challenge took place in early February and as usual there were some very challenging questions. However the girls performed excellently with some excellent individual successes. Over 200,000 pupils from across the UK sit the challenge, with the highest 6% achieving Gold, the next 13% Silver and the next 21% Bronze. Pupils with the highest scores go onto the further rounds.
Bronze certificates have been achieved by Riya Ghosh, Asiyah Ibraheem, Shivani Kumar, Alice Marriage and Rashmi Patwardhan in Year 9; Balpreet Bains, Zoe Callow, Maryam Durojaiye, Alisha Gadhia, Jasvin Kaur and Saffron Kaur in Year 10 and Anjalee Daudia, Freya Gibbs, Verity Howell, Emer Keegan, Zoe Lu and Anisha Patel in Year 11.
Silver certificates were obtained by Hritika Modi in Year 9; Sabika Ahmed, Mariam Hussain and Ruhi Vaitha in Year 10 and Rebecca Frape, Jeevan Sandhar and Amalia Young in Year 11.
Claire Zhang in Year 11 and Hannah Erlebach in Year 10 obtained Gold certificates and both qualified for follow on rounds. Claire was in the top 3% of pupils and will go onto the European Kangaroo challenge, whilst Hannah’s outstanding score made her one of the top 500 pupils in the country and she qualifies for the Mathematical Olympiad.
