Dear Parents

This half-term has passed quickly, with plenty happening across the School—including plans for a new bus route to North Leicester, which will make it easier for families in that area to reach Leicester High.

Our Year 11 and 13 students received their mock examination results, and it was great to see so many of them feeling pleased with what they have achieved. We also welcomed prospective families to our Mini Open Morning, and it was lovely to hear how much they enjoyed their visit and how impressed they were by our students.

Looking ahead, preparations for International Women’s Day are coming together well. We’ve had a fantastic response from those offering to speak or run workshops, and we really appreciate their support.

In the Junior School, Wellness Week was a big hit, with the girls getting involved in activities focused on wellbeing.

Wishing you all a relaxing and enjoyable half-term break.

Mr Alan Whelpdale,

Headmaster

Year 9 Make History at the Rotary Technology Challenge! 🚀🏆

Our Year 9 team has made history, achieving full marks—the first ever in the competition’s 11-year history—at the Rotary Technology Challenge!

Tasked with designing and building a launcher to propel a space capsule (a golf air ball) at least three metres into the air, our students impressed the judges with their precision, teamwork, and engineering skills. Having also won last year, they successfully defended their title with an outstanding performance.

A huge congratulations to our talented team—we are so proud! 👏💙

The Book That Inspired Me

For Mrs. Wallis, Head of English, it's The Dark is Rising by Susan Cooper.

It was the first book that showed her the magic of escapism, reminding her of The Lord of the Rings, which her father used to read to her—sparking her lifelong love of fantasy worlds.
