Visits, Open Days and Mornings
Join us on our whole school Open Day on Saturday 7 October 2017, 9.30am-12.30pm.
You will be able to:
- Talk in depth with our staff
- Discuss the curriculum
- View classroom displays and activities
- Tour the school with a Sixth Former as your guide
- Learn about the school during a short speech by the Headmaster
On Open Mornings, the whole school is open to visitors on a normal working day.
Wednesday 22 November 2017, 9-11.30am
Tuesday 6 February 2018, 9-11.30am
See the school in action, have a tour, and meet the Headmaster, Head of Junior Department, staff and girls. You do not need to book a place and we look forward to meeting you.
Our Open Evening is on Thursday 30 November 2017, 5.30-7pm. Pop in after work to see the School facilities, meet the staff and Headmaster and enjoy a tour of the School with a Sixth Former.
We welcome visits from prospective parents at any time. If you wish to visit us but cannot come to an Open Morning, please contact Mrs Alice Hailes on 0116 270 5338 or at firstname.lastname@example.org and arrange a time to suit you. Most visits involve a tour and a meeting with the Headmaster or Head of the Junior Department, depending where your focus lies. Bring your daughter with you if you wish, but don't feel you have to. If you need to visit us more than once, that's fine. There is no right or wrong way, as all parents have different needs.
For Years 6-10 in the Senior School, the Entrance Examination is in January every year, so the Autumn term is a good time to visit if you think your move to us is imminent, but if you are planning ahead, then any time is fine. Alternative entrance examination testing days are available throughout the Spring and Summer terms.
For Years 1-5 in the Junior Department, an assessment can be arranged at a mutually convenient time during a school day. Your daughter will complete some maths and English work and also spend time in the appropriate year group, where she can learn alongside the girls and meet the teacher. A summary of your daughter's assessment will be promptly provided by The Head of the Junior Department.
Sixth Form Information Evening
The next evening is Thursday 16 November 2017, 6-7.30pm, followed by a Taster Day on Monday 20 November 2017, 8.15am-4pm. Come along and meet the staff and the Headmaster. This is an event for current and prospective students. Staff will be able to discuss the A levels you are considering, and introduce new subjects not offered at GCSE.
Please note: visits from prospective Sixth Formers are welcome at any open day, morning or time to suit the family. The information evening is one of many opportunities to visit the school. Please also view the dedicated Sixth Form area of the website.
Many girls come for a 'Taster Day' where they have their chance to try out lessons, make friends, have lunch and see the facilities. Please call to arrange a date to suit you.
