Dear Parents

As we reach the midway point of this short but lively Summer Term, I am struck by how much the School community has packed into just a few weeks. With glorious weather for much of the term, it has been a joy to see the girls making full use of our beautiful grounds – from picnicking under the trees to studying and playing in the sunshine.

This half of the term saw the long-awaited return of our Alumnae Lunch – the first in several years – and it was a genuine pleasure to welcome former pupils back through our doors. Their fond memories and clear affection for the School were a reminder of the lasting impact of an LHS education.

Our junior pupils delighted us with a charming celebration for VE Day, and the Spring Fair brought families together for a much-enjoyed afternoon of stalls, treats and community spirit – thank you to everyone who supported the event.

Of course, this term also marks the beginning of exam season, and I am immensely proud of the calm and determined way in which our pupils are approaching this important time.

I wish you all a restful and sunny half-term break.

Mr Alan Whelpdale,

Headmaster
