Leicester High Awarded Shakespeare School Bronze Status

We are delighted to announce that Leicester High School for Girls has been awarded Shakespeare School Bronze Status in recognition of our ongoing commitment to the Shakespeare Schools Festival.

This special accreditation celebrates schools that have taken part in the Festival for three or more years, providing students with a unique opportunity to engage with Shakespeare’s works in a creative and confidence-building way.

Our involvement in the Festival over the years has seen pupils from across the School take to the stage to perform shortened versions of some of Shakespeare’s most iconic plays – from Macbeth to A Midsummer Night’s Dream – in professional theatres alongside other schools.

Mrs Rose, Head of Drama, said:
“We are so proud to receive this recognition. The Shakespeare Schools Festival is a brilliant initiative that allows our students to deepen their understanding of Shakespeare while building skills in teamwork, public speaking and performance. It’s always a highlight of our year!”

We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Festival and to many more years of Shakespearean storytelling on stage!
