Alumna Inspires Next Generation in Mathematics

We were delighted to welcome back Leicester High School for Girls alumna, Haniyah Ansari who returned to the School for a few months teaching Maths to Year 12 pupils.

On a gap year before pursuing her studies in Medicine from the next academic year, Haniyah has chosen to invest her time in nurturing the mathematical talents of the school's students.

“As an alumna of Leicester High, it has been wonderful to reconnect with the school. I have really enjoyed delivering tutorial sessions for the A level Maths students during my gap year and supporting them with their learning. Not only has it been of great benefit to the students, but the experience has also allowed me to build on my teaching skills, which has been fantastic for my personal development. I would like to thank the school for giving me this valuable opportunity”.

“Haniyah has been a true asset to our school community," said Matthew Pinnick, Head of Maths". Her passion for mathematics has left a lasting impression on our students. We are immensely grateful for her contributions.

As part of our growing alumnae community, there are many ways you can give back to Leicester High School for Girls. For example, you could share your career experiences with students, deliver guest lectures, offer interview tips, sit on panels, or share your story in an online profile. This not only helps to support current students but also adds to your experience and helps you develop and maintain a network of academics, other graduates, and more.
