Rotary Youth Speaks Competition

Through to the Final for the first time!

On Thursday 4 February, our enthusiastic team of Y11 girls battled it out against 8 other schools in the District Semi-Final round of this year’s Rotary Youth Speaks competition at Welland Park Academy.

The team was drawn third, and all spoke eloquently, humorously and to great effect, especially Ruhi Vaitha, who talked passionately about “the Importance of Doing Nothing” and who also had to answer a challenging question from the audience.

The competition from the other schools was fierce, as several has competed against each other the previous year! However, our team of Chairman Zoe Callow, Speaker Ruhi Vaitha, and Vote of Thanks Alisha Gadhia more than met the challenge, winning through as one of the top 3 teams to go forward to the prestigious District Final round of the competition which will be held early on March 12 in Oakham.
