Rotary Youth Speaks Competition 2016

Girls show their public speaking and debating prowess in annual competition.

On Tuesday 6 December, three enthusiastic teams of Year 12 girls took part in the hugely enjoyable first round of this year’s Rotary Youth Speaks competition. The girls spoke in teams of three on a wide range of subjects, from “Our Right to Freedom of Speech” to “The Importance of Failure”.

Congratulations go to all who took part, in particular, Leeya Adam who won the Best Chair award, Balpreet Bains who won Best Speaker of the evening, and Alisha Gadhia, who collected the Best Vote of Thanks prize.

The overall winning team, who will now go forward to the District Semi-Final round of the competition to be held in January is, Chairman Jasvin Kaur, Speaker Ruhi Vaitha, and Vote of Thanks, Alisha Gadhia.
