Engineering Challenge for Gifted and Talented Group
Girls take part in engineering challenge at Loughborough College
At the start of the Summer 2017 term, six girls from the gifted and talented register travelled to Loughborough to compete in a series of challenges and also visit the RS Components Innovation Truck. The event was a school competition organised by Young Enterprise in association with RS Components and held at Loughborough College.
The girls had to design a newspaper bridge, a product from a wire coat hanger and then produce a group pitch on how the next RS Component truck could be improved.
LHS girls didn't win but they showed great teamwork and learnt the importance of thinking outside the box. It was also a great opportunity for them to gain experience of meeting a real employer, learning about their business and helping them address real life problems.
