Welcome
Choosing the right school for your daughter is one of the most exciting and important things that you
will do for her, but we know it can be very confusing. To help you, this part of the prospectus is designed
for prospective parents and contains a lot of detail. However, nothing beats seeing a school on an
open day or private visit and talking to girls, the staff and the Headmaster. It’s also worth looking at the
videos of the School on the website. But do come and see us, because we‘re proud of our School and
we love showing people around! There are no rules when it comes to visits; we’re flexible because we
understand that everyone approaches the decision-making process in their own way.
If you are new to the independent school system, then you are no
different from the majority of our current parents. We understand
that considering a new type of school may seem a bit daunting.
Being a selective independent school simply means that we have
girls of a similar ability who benefit from an education specifically
designed for them. Girls are assessed or take an examination
when they join, but please do not think that we always select the
very brightest; we are interested in developing potential and aim
to bring out the best in every girl.
If you have any questions after reading the prospectus, or would like to visit, please call the Registrar,
Mrs Julia Harbage on (0116) 270 5338, or email
