Dear Parents,

As we reach the end of the first half of the summer term, I have been incredibly proud of the way our students have approached recent weeks.

In particular, I would like to recognise the maturity, resilience and determination shown by girls across the school during both internal and external examinations. At Leicester High, we work hard to create an environment where girls feel supported to aim high and believe in themselves. Research consistently highlights the benefits of girls-only education, and we see every day the difference an environment designed around how girls learn best can make.

We are also looking forward to our upcoming “Her Brilliance” Festival for Years 6–9 29th June, celebrating student achievement across the year, followed by our Summer Fête at 3.30pm, where all families are warmly invited to join us.

It has also been wonderful to see the enthusiasm surrounding our “Steps to Snehalaya” challenge, as students across the school work together to cover the distance to our charity partner in India ahead of our Year 12 visit this summer.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Mr John Partridge,

Headteacher

7,000km Challenge: Leicester High to Snehalaya

Our whole-school 7,000km Challenge is already off to a fantastic start, as students, staff and families work together to virtually travel the distance from Leicester High to our charity partner, Snehalaya.

The challenge is about far more than kilometres. It reflects the values we want our students to develop: compassion, resilience, community spirit and an understanding that even small individual actions can contribute to something bigger.

Every walk, run, jog, cycle or swim helps move us closer to Snehalaya, while also encouraging healthy habits, teamwork and a sense of shared purpose across our school community.

As part of the challenge, we would love families to join us for a Leicester High parkrun event:

Victoria Park parkrun
Saturday 27 June, 9.00am
Walk, run or jog 5km together

Everyone is welcome, whether you are a regular runner or would simply like to take part and enjoy the morning together.

If you are new to parkrun, please register first so your participation can be recorded.

Our current whole-school total is 299 km — a brilliant start.
