Silver DofE Expedition
Girls impress the assessors in the Peak District...
Three Silver groups set off just before the start of the half-term for their qualifier having completed their practice in The Yorkshire Dales at Easter. The groups were staggered in their start, as one student had to complete her GCSE exam before joining later, which meant that one group finished a day later. Having endured terrible weather during the practice the girls were due a little bit of sunshine. It wasn’t tropical, but it was better than before and the groups particularly enjoyed being able to sit out in the evening, cooking their meals and chatting in relative comfort. All the groups performed superbly well, rarely making any navigational errors and handling their campcraft and kit with confidence. The assessors from First 4 Adventure UK were delighted with the girls and remarked how competent they were. Overall it was a great success which hopefully will inspired many of them to continue on to Gold. They all showed they had the right skills and dedication to achieve at the highest level.
Thank you as well to Mrs Davison and Miss Brice who accompanied the trip.
