Exam Results and Destinations

At Leicester High School for Girls, pupils achieve strong academic outcomes and progress to a wide range of university courses and future pathways.

Our small class sizes, individual support and ambitious teaching help pupils build the knowledge, confidence and independence they need for GCSEs, A Levels and life beyond school.

GCSE Results

In 2026, pupils achieved:

  • 28% of all grades at grade 9
  • 45% of grades at 9–8
  • 64% of grades at 9–7

There were some exceptional individual performances, including pupils achieving ten grade 9s.

Results were particularly strong in a number of subjects. In Biology, 77% of grades were 9–8 and 100% were grade 7 or above, while in Physics, 77% were grades 9–8 and 92% were grade 7 or above.

Importantly, the Year 11 cohort outperformed their target grades overall, reflecting the progress pupils made alongside their academic achievement.

A Level Results

In 2026, students achieved:

  • 61% grades A*-A
  • 89% grades A*-B

The results were particularly impressive across a number of subjects. In Physics, 83% of grades were A*–A, while Further Mathematics achieved an extraordinary 100% A*.

The School is also celebrating the success of pupils who joined Leicester High specifically for Sixth Form. Among these students, an exceptional 78% of grades were A*–A and 90% were A*–B, demonstrating the impact that the School's small classes, individual support and ambitious Sixth Form environment can have.

University Progression

At A Level, Leicester High students progress to a wide range of competitive university courses in the UK and internationally.

In 2026

94.7% of students achieved their Firm choice
18 of the 19 students with a confirmed university destination went to their Firm choice.

57.9% progressed to a Russell Group university
11 of the 19 students with a confirmed destination secured a place at a Russell Group university.

90.9% of Medicine applicants received a Medicine offer
10 out of 11 students applying for Medicine received at least one Medicine offer.
