Y5 and 6 Visit The Space Centre
Y5 and 6 enhance a visit to the Space Centre with School i-Pads....
5…4…3…2…1…BLAST OFF.... and yes the day had come for the lucky Years 5 and 6 to go to The National Space Centre on the 26 January 2016! But first of all we had to prepare ourselves in period one at School, for a special responsibility we were going to have on the trip: i-Pads, i-Pads, i-Pads! We were going to record what we were going to see and make a presentation to share back at School. So Mr Norbury showed us how to use the i-Pads and it was fun. As minutes passed by, it was time to have the real fun, actually going to The Space Centre! So excited Years 5 and 6 boarded the coach. In a matter of minutes, we were there!
In we went and with hearts pounding, we saw what was going on and began recording. The most popular activity was the Weather Report pod where we experienced what it would be like to read the weather on the news. Who could forget the Planetarium where we had a guided tour of the night sky and learnt about constellations which can easily be seen in the night sky. Some of the braver girls went on the 3D Simulator ride to the icy moon Europa, which made them feel like they were on a real space trip.
We had a great time and can’t wait to go back.
