Maths Challenge Success

Girls in Y9 and 11 perform excellently in a national Maths Challenge....

The Intermediate Mathematics Challenge took place in early February and as usual there were some very challenging questions. However the girls performed excellently with a very high proportion of gold and silver awards. Over 200,000 pupils from across the UK sit the challenge, with the highest 6% achieving Gold, the next 13% Silver and the next 21% Bronze. Pupils with the highest scores go onto the further rounds.

Unfortunately Year 10 went on an English trip on the day of the challenge this year and so were unable to take part.

Hannah qualified for the Mathematical Olympiads with the highest score in the School, whilst the other Gold winners all qualified for the European Kangaroo challenge.  We eagerly await the results from these.
