What a Scorcher!
In beautiful sunshine during their residential at Kingswood, the girls learn life skills...and fire-lighting!
Our annual residential visit to the Kingswood Centre in Staffordshire gave us a new experience . . . sunshine!
For the duration of their three-day stay, Y4 and Y5 enjoyed adventurous activities in glorious warm weather. However, we did manage to find some muddy puddles in the caves and experienced ‘freak showers’ in nightline . . . courtesy of a few water pistols!
Fire-lighting was a new activity this year, which tested the girls’ resilience, but was very rewarding. The girls loved other favourite activities, such as climbing, go-karts, archery, aeroball, orienteering and the ‘team challenge’ assault course.
Whilst these activities were great fun and challenging at the time, it was most interesting to hear the girls’ ideas about how they could use the skills and self-awareness they had experienced in their everyday lives back at school. Success will surely follow, if the girls apply their Kingswood experiences in the future.
