Morsbags Mission

Junior Sixth Form Council start campaign to be a plastic bag free School after hearing how they damage the environment...

The Junior School Council has been inspired by Mrs Nielson, a Governor of the school, who recently led an assembly about the dangers of plastic bags to our world.  The six girls from Year 5 felt so strongly about the impact of plastic bags on our wildlife and environment  that they decided to attempt to eradicate all plastic bags from the Junior Department. Their message was shared with the Junior Department in a mock protest a few weeks ago, when they burst into an assembly with placards vocalising an end to plastic bags; they certainly know how to get the attention of their audience!

They believe that changing habits, such as using plastic bags, when children are young, will develop a more thoughtful and considerate generation. To aid their mission, the girls have kindly provided all 120 Junior girls and staff with a stylish cotton up-cycled bag in which to bring additional items, when required into school. These have been kindly made and donated by Morsbags Leicester.  We hope to be the first school in the UK to ban plastic bags.
