Senior Sports Day
Beaumanor win again for the third year running!
On Monday 4 July, Leicester High held their annual Senior School Sports Day at Saffron Lane Athletics Stadium. The day was full of great victories and sunny skies, perfect for an afternoon of athletics. All of the girls and teachers supported and cheered their houses until the very end, where we finished with the much awaited relay races and we are pleased to say the competition was both fierce and fun. Thank you to all the girls who showed great determination and effort in each of their events that they part took in. The day was a complete success and explicitly demonstrated how Leicester High unites all year groups for a wonderful day. Even those who had a fall whilst running built up the courage to continue and finish their races proving their dedication and commitment to their houses.
This year’s Victrix Ludorum winners were: Y6, Jemma Englegardt and Neranjana Thirumalaikumar, Y7 Connie Davies, Y8 Amy Simon, Y9 Puneet Rekhi and Zainab Kadara and Asiyah Ibraheem and Alice Goldsmith in Y10. After the final race, points were collated and the results were Charnwood in third place with 298 points, Bradgate in second place with 337 points, whilst Beaumanor were crowned overall winners for the third year in succession with 386 points. Finally, thank you to Mrs Chahal and Mr Whelpdale, who presented the prizes, all the Sixth Form helpers, teachers, PE staff, and, in particular Mrs Davison, who organised the day and made it so successful.
