250 parents, staff and girls turn out for Rutland Walk in aid of the Malala Fund.

On Sunday 1 March, most of Leicester High, it seemed, decamped to Braunston, a small and beautiful village in Rutland. 250 girls, parents and staff, aged from 2-80, walked a 4 or 8 km walk in gloriously muddy and sunny conditions. It was wonderful to see so many who are part of our School all out together enjoying the countryside, as well as each other's company. Mrs Martin, who organises the outdoor education programme in Senior School, planned the walk with Andy Rowlinson. Both run a successful outdoor education company called First4Adventure. Thanks to everyone who provided cakes for the event, including local Oadby supermarket Waitrose, and the Sixth Formers who were efficient tea makers and marshalls. £450 was raised for the Malala Fund, which is excellent news. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this worthy cause.
