Fineshade Woods Y6
At the end of their first week Y6 enjoyed Fineshade Woods where they played, made land art and collected insects.
As part of the School’s Outdoor Education programme, all of Year 6 took the opportunity to go to Fineshade Woods in Northamptonshire for the day.
The girls started off by building their own shelters in the woods, followed by bug hunting using plastic tubs and paintbrushes to make sure none of the insects were damaged. A grasshopper, true fly, ground beetle, harvestman spider and millipede were just some of the many creatures collected! After a lunch eaten in the woods and a play on the adventure playground, they finished off by making land art, inspired by the work of artist Andy Goldsworthy. Everyone finished in the café with well-deserved ice-cream and cakes! It was the perfect end to their first week in the Senior school.
