Subject overview

We take a holistic approach to teaching music, whilst ensuring that assessment and teaching remains excellent. In doing so, girls from Leicester High develop their confidence through the skills that music offers.

You will be provided with practical experience of the subject through the three strands of performance, composing and listening and appreciation. You will develop the key skills of critical thinking, working independently and dedication. All year groups are provided with opportunities to perform, both within and outside of School.

Music is taught in our purpose built music building which houses music practice rooms, ensemble/performance space and classroom space, providing an important space for the study of music within the School.
