Year 10 Step Up as Leaders in Sport Education

Our Year 10s have impressed us this term with their enthusiasm and maturity as they took on a Sport Education–based project all about leadership.

Working in small groups, the girls planned and delivered their very own fitness sessions - a task that asked them not only to understand different training methods, but also to think carefully about how to support and motivate others.

Each group created a full session from scratch, including a structured warm-up, main exercises, and adaptations to make sure everyone could take part. They then took turns leading their sessions to their peers, showing real confidence as they communicated instructions, organised equipment, and encouraged each other throughout.

Sessions were scored using a points system, but the real success was in how the girls collaborated, listened to one another, and developed their own leadership styles. It was wonderful to see them growing in confidence and creativity each week.

A Standout Session from the Winning Group

One group really captured the spirit of the project with a Pilates-inspired session that ended in a guided meditation under soft pink lighting. This thoughtful, calming finish created a beautiful atmosphere and demonstrated how creative and considered fitness planning can be. Their attention to detail set them apart and earned them well-deserved recognition as the winning group.

Well done to all of Year 10 for their hard work, positivity, and leadership — we are very proud of you!
