Learning Support
At Leicester High, we know that girls thrive when they feel seen, supported, and understood. Our caring and personalised approach helps every pupil grow in confidence—both academically and emotionally—so she can flourish in every aspect of school life.
We are proud of our outstanding support provision, which combines expert academic help with a warm, inclusive ethos. Many girls join us having struggled elsewhere, and quickly find themselves re-engaged, happy and excited to learn again.
Since joining Leicester High, my daughter has rediscovered her love of learning. She comes home smiling every day and feels like she truly belongs. We’ve seen such a positive change in her confidence—it’s been wonderful.
Tailored Support That Transforms
Our strong pastoral care, led by experienced Heads of Year, works hand-in-hand with our Learning Development Team. Whether your daughter has specific learning needs, is facing physical or emotional challenges, or simply needs a little extra support to thrive, we take time to understand and respond to her individual needs.
We also welcome pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), working closely with families and professionals to ensure a consistent and caring support plan.
Before LHS, my daughter was too anxious to attend school. Now, she hasn’t missed a day, performed in the school play, and is a Deputy Form Captain. She’s become herself again - and we are so grateful.
Academic and Neurodiversity Support
Subject Aid Sessions
Our teachers regularly run supportive sessions beyond the classroom. For example, our ‘Maths Aid’ drop-in helps girls master tricky topics in a relaxed and encouraging setting. These sessions are designed to boost understanding and build confidence.
SEND and Learning Development
We have a strong reputation for supporting bright, high-achieving girls who learn differently. Many of our pupils are neurodiverse and flourish in our nurturing and ambitious environment.
Our provision includes:
-
A calm, well-equipped Learning Development Room for 1:1 or small group support
-
A dedicated SENDCo who works closely with families, teachers and external professionals
-
Support for a wide range of needs, including:
-
Cognition and learning
-
Communication and interaction
-
Social, emotional and mental health
-
Sensory and/or physical needs
-
Dyslexia, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
-
We use a range of tools to identify needs early, ensuring timely and effective support. Regular reviews help us tailor our approach so every girl continues to thrive.
Celebrating Every Girl
We believe every girl brings her own unique strengths and deserves the opportunity to shine. Our support systems are designed to empower all pupils—not just those who learn in traditional ways—to succeed and enjoy their education.
