At the end of the Summer Term, our more able linguists were set the challenge of creating wall art with a message for the small courtyard outside the Languages Room.
As part of their work around the theme of 'Community', Year 11 girls have been busy creating plant pots, pictures and poems.
LHS has celebrated more exam success today with 75% of all GCSE grades achieved by the girls being at grades 7-9.
96% of all LHS girls who received their A Level results today have secured their place at their first choice University.
This includes 8 girls who will be will be setting off to the universities of their choice to study Medicine.
Over 90% of all grades achieved by girls at LHS were A* to B, with 68% at A* or A. 50% of girls achieved straight A* and A grades.
On 4 July the year 7 girls took part in a day of cross curricular activities. In the morning, the groups prepared classic French recipes, which they had been learning to read in their recent French lessons. These included la ratatouille, le filet de saumon and le suprême de poulet, learning various French cuts for the vegetables. They practised French phrases to enable them to critique the finished dishes and learnt the skills to photograph food attractively, trying out their new-found skills on each other.
The Year 7 Biology Students visited the Leicester Botanic Gardens as part of their 'Ecosystems' topic.

I can hardly believe we are at the end of another fantastic LHS year!
A most rewarding, exciting and effective initiative has been taken on recently in the Modern Languages Department. 7M have been writing to a group of similarly aged pupils from a mixed boarding school in France, near Strasbourg. Introductions, letters and recipes have crossed the English Channel and been shared with their new-found friends.
Students in Years 11, Year 12, 13 and their parents joined us over two nights in June for the Sixth Form and Year 11 Summer Balls.
On the morning of the 19 June, 13 Year 12 students, Miss Tyler and Mr Ryman headed down to sunny Brighton
Our Jubilee Celebrations will take place on the afternoon of Monday 6 June.
