Rotary Young Designer Winners
Zoe and Devina's winning dresses on display at Christopher Scotney's shop on London Road.
The School winners of the A level and GCSE Rotary Young Designer Competition were Devina and Zoe this year. Devina also won the prize for most promising textile designer at the Rotary District Final. Perhaps inevitably, Devina is now beginning her degree in Fashion Design and Zoe has started her A level art course!
Christopher and Anna Scotney judged the school level competition and were so impressed with the dresses they offered to put them in their shop window from 19 September, so do look out for them. Anna Scotney said, 'The ideas behind the design and the quality of the garments are very impressive. I am glad that both girls are continuing in their creative studies.'
Zoe's dresses were inspired by visits to the Botanical Gardens and Marimekko.
Devina's dresses were inspired by the theme 'Wild Landscape' with a particular reference to Silver Birch trees.
