DofE season is fully upon us and it was great to accompany the students to the Peak District to complete their practice expedition.
We are delighted to announce the return of the University of Oxford's ever-popular French and Spanish flash fiction competition which is open to pupils in Years 7-13 who are studying French or Spanish.
Six of our Year 12 students presented their proposals at Uppingham School on 4th March. The students were placed in mixed-school groups, working on Zoom in the February half-term on their pitch.
Mandarin classes on Wednesday evenings have got off to a great start with students from juniors up to Sixth Form enjoying not only speaking but also learning to recognise and write some Chinese characters.

Saturday 15 January saw the return of D of E at Leicester High after two years of postponed expeditions. 28 silver students were in School for a full-day training in preparation for their practice expedition. Miss Watson and two instructors from First 4 Adventure UK delivered the training, which included a variety of workshops; first aid, cooking on a trangia, how to put up a tent and learning about what kit and equipment is required for an expedition.
