Leicester High School for Girls is delighted to announce that Andrew McMurray, Head of Science, has been shortlisted for Subject Lead of the Year (Secondary) in this year’s Tes Schools Awards - a prestigious national celebration of the UK’s most inspiring teachers and schools from both the state and independent sectors.
Leicester High School for Girls was delighted to welcome Professor Dr Thomas Honegger of Friedrich Schiller University Jena, one of the most renowned academic experts in Medieval English, for a special A-level lecture exploring the topics of Chaucer and Medieval English society.
There was a lovely atmosphere across the school as pupils and staff came together to celebrate World Book Day, with a day centred around reading and the enjoyment of books.

Our students are celebrating an exceptional start to this year’s university application cycle, with every applicant securing multiple interviews for highly competitive courses.
Leicester High School for Girls was pleased to welcome students and parents to its Sixth Form Options Evening this week, where two new academic pathways were introduced: the Multimedia Arts & Culture Pathway and the Law & Politics Pathway.
