The School Day

What time does School start and finish?

Junior Department: EYFS to Year 5

The Junior Department is open from 7.30am for Before School Care and lessons start at 8.25am. 

The Junior Department day ends at 3.00pm/3.20pm. After Care in the Junior Department runs until 6.00pm.

Years 7-13

The Senior School is open from 7.30am and girls can arrive between 7.30am and 8.20am and go straight to their form room.

Senior School closes at 3.45pm.

Late Supervision runs in the Senior School until 6.00pm.

What should my daughter bring to School?

Junior Department 

A School bag (Junior Department girls receive this on their first day and it is charged to their account), water bottle, fruit snack and stationery (from Year 3).

Senior School

You will need to bring a School bag with your blue labcoat, a water bottle and a pencil case.

In your pencil case you will need:

  • pen (blue/black) – cartridge/fibre-tipped/gel pen NOT ballpoint
  • pencil
  • rubber / ink eraser
  • sharpener
  • coloured pencils
  • ruler
  • scissors
  • glue stick
  • maths set
  • gel pens/fineliners/highlighters (optional)

Please mark everything with your name or initials, so that your things can be returned to you easily. You are welcome to have a notebook of your own to jot things in.

How does the lunch system work?

School lunches are included in the fees for the Junior Department and menus can be found at leicesterhigh.co.uk/lunch

In the Senior School, we offer daily hot and cold options. Senior School girls can pay for their lunches using their SQuid card, our contactless payment system, or request they are added to your account.  

We also have a 'Tuck Shop' which provides sandwiches and snacks at break time and lunchtime which your daughter will be able to buy using her SQuid card. 

Your daughter will be provided with her SQuid card when she starts at LHS.

What are your term dates?

How will I be updated about the School?

We post regular updates on our social media accounts and on the School website. 

In addition to this, we send regular newsletters and parents are also signed up to our School Comms system which will ensure you receive all relevant letters to your inbox - please make sure we have your most up-to-date details.

You will be updated on your daughter's progress during Parents' Evenings and through reports. We are keen to involve our parents in School life and run parental events throughout the year.

How do I pay my School fees?

Fee invoices are issued before the beginning of each term ie August for the Autumn Term, December for the Spring Term and March/April for the Summer Term.
