Pupils across the School took part in a range of activities to mark Parliament Week, giving them the opportunity to learn more about democracy, decision-making and how Parliament works in practice.
Throughout the week, lessons and activities focused on debate, discussion and collaboration. Pupils explored how laws are made, took part in structured debates, crafted campaign-style materials, and played games designed to help them understand the roles of MPs, the House of Commons and the House of Lords. These activities encouraged pupils to think critically, listen to different viewpoints and explain their own ideas clearly.
As part of Parliament Week, pupils and staff were also able to watch the live delivery of the 2025 Budget Statement from the House of Commons. The livestream was shown in the main foyer at lunchtime, allowing members of the school community to see a real parliamentary event as it happened and to better understand how national decisions are presented and debated.
Parliament Week provided a valuable opportunity for pupils to connect what they learn in the classroom with real-world events, helping to build their understanding of citizenship, politics and public life.
