Year 10 Inspired by Women Engineers

Our Year 10 pupils took part in an engaging non-destructive testing (NDT) demonstration delivered by two female engineers from Rolls-Royce.
The session not only showcased how NDT is used in motorsport, aeronautics, and other advanced industries, but also offered an inspiring example of women leading in engineering.
The engineers explained and demonstrated techniques such as ultrasonic and dye penetrant testing, showing how these methods keep critical components safe without causing damage. They also spoke about their own career journeys, giving our pupils a clear picture of the many pathways available in engineering.
For our Year 10 girls, seeing women thriving in high-level engineering roles was particularly powerful—challenging stereotypes and highlighting the opportunities open to them in STEM.
We are grateful to the team from Rolls-Royce for providing such an inspiring and informative experience.
