Leadership in Action

While many enjoyed a well-earned half-term break, a group of dedicated Year 8 students from Leicester High School for Girls were busy leading and inspiring others.
As part of the Inspire Together programme, our Year 8 Sports Leaders helped out at a Key Stage 1 Sports Festival here at Leicester High. The event brought together young pupils from local schools for a day of fun, fitness and teamwork - all guided by our pupils.
Through leading warm-ups, games and skill-based activities, our girls demonstrated the true meaning of student leadership - showing confidence, communication, teamwork and empathy in action.
“This wasn’t just about sport,” said Sam Tratt, Sports Coach. “It was about developing leadership skills, inspiring others and building character. The girls were outstanding role models.”
The Sports Leaders encouraged every participant to have fun, try something new and celebrate each success, no matter how small. By the end of the day, both the leaders and younger pupils left with a sense of achievement and pride.
At Leicester High School for Girls, leadership doesn’t wait for the future — it starts now.
