Students Inspired by Elite Netball at Loughborough Lightning

During the half-term break, a group of Leicester High School for Girls students enjoyed an exciting trip to watch elite netball at its very best, as they attended matches featuring Loughborough Lightning, who are currently sitting at the top of the Netball Super League table.
The students were treated to a fantastic afternoon of high-quality sport, watching not only the league-leading senior team but also Loughborough Lightning's NextGen squad, which showcases some of the most promising young players in the game.
The matches provided a valuable insight into the pace, intensity and physicality of elite netball. Students were able to see first-hand the athleticism, teamwork and skill required to compete at the highest level, inspiring many of them in their own netball journeys.
Head of PE, Annabel Corcoran, said
I was incredibly proud of the girls throughout the trip. They were excellent ambassadors for the school and fully embraced the opportunity to watch some of the country's best netball players in action. Since returning, we have seen that enthusiasm carry over into our Netball Club, with students eager to develop their skills, support one another and enjoy the game. It has been wonderful to see the positive impact the experience has had on them.
Sport plays an important role in school life at Leicester High School for Girls, helping students to stay active, work as part of a team and challenge themselves both on and off the court. Experiences such as this help to inspire the next generation of players and encourage a lifelong enjoyment of sport.
