Sir Thomas White Trust Scholarship
Deadline for 2026 applications is Friday 16 January 2026.
For the past six years, girls entering the Sixth Form from state schools in Leicestershire or Rutland have been eligible to apply for the Sir Thomas White Scholarship, covering 100% of tuition fees for two years.
The Scholarship is for an academic girl from a household with an income under £50,000 who would not otherwise afford a place. The application process includes a bursary form, personal statement, grades, and references. Shortlisted applicants will attend interviews with the Head of Sixth Form, subject heads, and the Headmaster. Final candidates are interviewed by the Sir Thomas White Trust, which awards up to three Scholarships annually across local schools.
Contact our Admissions Officer, Mr Ashley McGoff to find out more or to apply.
Sixth Form Entry Requirements
Girls wishing to join the Sixth Form in Year 12 must have at least a Level 6 in six academically rigorous and relevant subjects at GCSE, including English and Maths and at least Level 7 in those subjects you wish to study at A Level.
If your predicted grades meet the above requirements, you will be given a conditional offer to join the Sixth Form, which is dependent on you achieving the entry requirement in your GCSEs.
How to Apply
Step 1: Visit Us
We have Open Days on set dates during the year, including a specific Sixth Form Open Evening in November. However, you are welcome to arrange a personal visit outside these times - either instead of, or in addition to, attending an Open Day.
You will also be invited to attend a Taster Day when you will spend time in lessons with your future classmates.
Step 2: Register
Once you have decided that you would like to progress with an application, you need to complete a Registration Form and pay a £100.00 registration fee. We will also need to take a copy of your passport and birth certificate and a copy of your predicted grades. We will also need a report from your current school.
Step 3: Induction Day
When a new girl is joining us in September, we'll invite her to an Induction Day in June. It's a chance to meet the staff, explore the school, and make new friends before school starts.
Step 4: GCSE Results Day
On GCSE results day in August, you will be invited to come into the School to meet with our Admissions Manager and our Head of Sixth Form, with your GCSE results. If you have met the entry requirements for Sixth Form admission, your offer of a place at the School will be confirmed and your contract issued.
This will need to be signed by your parents and returned, along with the £250 deposit to secure your place.
